Head of Education
Greenwich Waldorf School is seeking an experienced and collaborative Head of Education to lead the educational life of the school and help shape its next phase with clarity, steadiness and integrity. This is a senior leadership role with primary responsibility for teaching and learning, pastoral leadership, pupil welfare, safeguarding, and the overall educational direction of the school. The post-holder will work closely with the Head of Operations within the school’s senior leadership structure, helping to ensure that the life of the school, its structures and its daily practice, support its educational aims.
We are looking for someone with strong educational judgement, professional presence, and the ability to lead well through collaboration.
The role includes:
• leading teaching, learning and educational quality across the school
• providing leadership in relation to pastoral life, pupil welfare and safeguarding
• supporting, developing and overseeing teaching staff • contributing to educational policy, improvement planning and school development
• contributing to inspection readiness and wider school leadership
• working closely with the Head of Operations so that operational systems support educational priorities
• working constructively with the College of Teachers, trustees, staff and parents
The successful candidate will bring:
• substantial senior leadership experience in Waldorf education
• strong understanding of child development, pedagogy and pastoral care
• sound safeguarding knowledge and judgement
• the ability to lead within a collaborative structure
• strong communication and relationship-building skills
